TRUCK PERMIT EXAMINATION

The conditions for passing the heavy goods vehicle license:
Presentation of a category C heavy vehicle license is subject to certain conditions:
- Be the holder of a category B driving license For a French citizen under 25, be in good standing with regard to the citizen census obligations or for a foreigner, be installed in France for at least 6 months with a regular residence permit. The age conditions to pass the heavy vehicle license:
- Without a road driver's diploma: 18 years old for categories C1 and C1E and 21 years old for categories C and CE
- With one of the following diplomas: 18 years old for C1, C1E, C, CE permits
- Health :
The candidate for a category C heavy vehicle license must undergo a medical examination and must obtain a favorable opinion from a doctor approved by the prefecture.
Validity and renewal of the heavy vehicle driving license:
The validity of the professional driving license depends on the compulsory medical check.
The validity period depends on the age of the driver:
Under 55: 5 years
From 55 to 60 years: 5 years or until the anniversary date of the 60 years
From 60 to 76 years: 2 years or until the anniversary date of 76 years
Over 76 years: 1 year
If the deadline for the medical check is exceeded, the permit loses its validity but is not canceled. In order to obtain the renewal of the validity of the heavy goods vehicle license it is necessary
