COMPULSORY MINIMUM INITIAL TRAINING (FIMO)
FIMO training is the Mandatory Minimum Initial Training that must be followed by any heavy truck driver starting in the profession after 10/09/2009) It therefore allows a person with a heavy vehicle license to access the jobs of truck driver. FIMO training is initial, that is to say that it should only be followed once at the start of the career. It is more in-depth than the FCO which is the training followed every 5 years by active drivers. The merchandise FIMO is a training which combines theory and practice and therefore takes place partly indoors and partly in the field, particularly in driving. It lasts 140 hours spread over 4 consecutive weeks.
The origins
The FIMO (Mandatory Minimum Initial Training) is a training set up in 1995. The training obligation has gone through several phases, this one being initially compulsory only for public transport. Over the years, several changes have appeared, making this training mandatory for public and private transport.
Am I subject to FIMO?
Anyone using a goods transport vehicle with more than 3.5t GVW or passenger transport with more than 9 seats (driver included) is subject to the obligation of FIMO training, with the exception of those driving a vehicle. in one of the following cases:
